This Beef Roast recipe uses a lot of onions and tomatoes so that the roast is one with gravy rather than a dry roast. This gives your beef roast sandwiches a wet feel so that you can eliminate the need for butter or mayonnaise if you are watching your weight. ;)
1kg roast beef chunk
3 big onions, chopped fine
3 big tomatoes, chopped fine
4" stick cinnamon
6 cloves
10 pepper corns
4 red Kashmiri chillies
2 tbspns ginger garlic paste
2 tspns salt or as per taste
1 tspn sugar
juice of 1 small lemon
3 tbspns oil
Method:
- Apply salt, sugar, lime juice, ginger garlic paste to the chunk of beef and keep aside.
- If you have time you can even marinate it and keep it overnight in the fridge.
- Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
- Add the onions and fry for some time.
- Add the tomatoes and continue frying.
- Add the marinated beef chunk and pressure cook on simmer for about 40 mins. or until done.
- Meat is best cut when it is cold rather than hot. Let cool and keep in refrigerator.

- The next day, take out the beef roast and slice it perpendicular to the threads in the meat.
- Use as a side dish, in salads or in sandwiches.
